Happy Wednesday readers! This edition of loving right now is going to be festive… in fact, every single one of the posts on Kerry Cooks from now until January 1st are probably going to be fairly Christmassy in nature – fingers crossed you love Christmas as much as me!
This week I’ve been thinking lots about getting ready for Christmas – I think I actually love the anticipation more than the actual event in lots of ways! I love planning what I’m going to buy and make for people, although I keep changing my mind about what I’m going to make (Christmas snowballs? Fudge? Cookie wreaths?) and need to remind myself to keep things simple rather than planning to make a hundred different things!
1. Free Christmas fonts! These were put together by another blogger whose Photoshop skills far exceed mine. I’m just starting to get my head slightly around Photoshop, and I did manage to make the poster (after a lot of help from Emma!) for the City WI Christmas Bake Sale, using the Candy Cane font!
2. Lakeland chocolate bark mould. You guys know I heart chocolate bark, and I love making it the regular way but this mould is so fun and cute with its festive messages! I can see it being put to about a hundred different uses.
3. A grab of my Christmas Treat pinterest inspiration board. If you know me then you may be receiving a variation on one of these festive treats for Christmas… but which one? If you need some inspiration for festive baking yourself, head over there, and don’t forget to stock up on cute little presentation bags and Christmas ribbon.
4. I have to also mention PicMonkey – the fantastic free online picture editing software. Those of you who use it will have noticed that I use PicMonkey a LOT on my blog – its a great free tool that enables me to do a lot of the things that I need to do (editing, lightening up and adding text to images, plus creating collages like the one above!). I absolutely love their little festive flourishes – so I’ve showcased a few above by creating a Recipe Card – perfect for printing out and attaching to your festive gifts! I featured my popular S’mores cookies. You can find out exactly how to make the card here (don’t worry, it is laughably easy or there’s no way I would be able to do it!).
By the way, PicMonkey offered me a month trial of their premium service in return for creating a recipe card and sharing it with you, but there’s no way you’d be hearing about them unless I really thought they were awesome. And they are.
I’m feeling so festive already! What are you loving right now readers? Are you starting to get just a little bit excited for Christmas? I think we’re allowed now…
