Feeling Christmassy or fleeing christmas?

September 23, 2011 By Kerry Cooks 7 Comments

Are you getting increasingly excited about the prospect of Christmas on the horizon (I’ve already started buying presents and downloading Christmas songs!) OR are you aghast about the September appearance of Christmas paraphernalia in all the shops (it happens every year you know!)?

Needless to say, my standpoints is firmly in the FORMER camp. Which is why I’m currently drooling over these Lakeland seasonal ribbons and presentation bags for food gifts

Pros -Sooo pretty! Will last for years (5m of EACH ribbon!!!). Would make fantastic gifts if I make cookies or chocolates and package them up

Cons – Very expensive! Will I actually make food gifts or will I not bother?

What do you guys think?

I LOVE Christmas too and all it has to bring. That ribbon is beautiful and I’m a big believer in beautifully wrapped gifts. My plan this year is to buy as many of my Christmas gifts as possible from Etsy as there is so much gorgeous and different stuff. We’ll see, I also love being at the shops during December – the decorations, the songs, the crowds – I love it all.

Is it me or are beautifully wrapped presents before you open them almost better than the presents? Its the anticipation!

I love love LOVE Christmas! Every year at uni my housemates get sick of the sight of xmas decs and christmas songs as I like to do the run up to ‘uni christmas’ as well as to actual christmas!

Usually I do leave my Christmas shopping til at least November though, I like to do one big day of Christmas shopping but I think my budget will prevent me doing that this year. Buying one or two presents a month will help me spread the cost!

I’ve definitley considered the edible christmas present this year though and those ribbons and bags fromlakeland look perfect, will probably have to shop around for a cheaper option though πŸ™

As for whats in the shops…I don’t mind it all arriving early, I’m used to it working at Thorntons where pre-season arrives at the beginning of September! I even went to the Harrods xmas store in August this year and bought some gorgeous gingerbread man tree decs!

I’m also making my own christmas cake this year so that will help me start the festivities early πŸ˜€

Ah bless you! We really should meet up in real life I think we may be THE SAME PERSON! Definitely agree about buying presents every month to help spread the cost – its much easier to do it over multiple paydays!

Since we are Christmas sisters, I’ll tell you a secret – I listen to Christmas songs all year round, whenever I need a bit of cheering up!

Haha I think you’re right! πŸ˜€ There definitely is nothing like a Christmas song to cheer you up!!! Or a Christmas film…I’ve been guilty of that before! Hehehe!

Think I will buy my first present on the next pay day, my sisters already given me some ideas, most of my friends would call my crazy if I admitted it though!
