Hello friends! I’m popping in to share a few of the things I’ve been up to and loving lately!
Something that had never happened to me before – I got free drinks from a bar! I’ve been a regular at Das Kino in Nottingham for a while now and one day they said ‘oh hey you’re a regular, these are on us’. I didn’t know that happened in real life, but YAY! I like being a regular!
We’ve been watching Inside Amy Schumer a lot lately and it’s awesome. One episode even made me cry – the sexy rodeo PSA to be exact, and the scene on women saying sorry constantly was genius. If you can, watch it!
Recently I read Single, Carefree, Mellow, a book that I admittedly did only pick up at the library thanks to Lena Dunham’s recommendation on the front. It’s a collection of short stories about women’s lives that I found to be a really good read. Some of the stories are stronger than others, and they all share a thread of sadness – so maybe not one to read if you’re looking for something uplifting.
Now I’m reading March, Women, March – which is excellent so far.
We’re heading to France next week on holiday and I’m hoping to read these books
Is five books optimistic for a seven day holiday!?
Some new products I’ve discovered lately that I LOVE – 17 Tattoo Me Eyeliner is amazing and WILL NOT smudge, but use a different brush to apply it. I also love the new Revlon Balm Stain Crayon – really handy and foolproof to apply.
Lately I’ve been really enjoying trying lots of different classes at the gym in Beeston I go to – I recently braved spinning for the first time since an awful class years ago where I very nearly DIED. I surprised myself by really enjoying it!
Which is just as well, because I’ve eaten A LOT of delicious meals recently! Roasted beetroot and goat’s cheese pizza, fish and chips, Nutella sandwich cookies… – coming soon to Kerry Cooks!
Plus I kind of overdosed on my Cookie Dough Salted Chocolate Caramel Shortbread…. SO good! If you want to bake something this weekend, might I suggest this?!
Have a wonderful bank holiday weekend friends!

Ahhh, I know what you mean about saying sorry all time – I’m sure we had a conversation like that not too long ago as well – so will have to look it up. Regular at Das Kino? Sounds super…nice to know they look after their loyal customers as well! x

I enjoyed Single, Carefree & Mellow, too! I haven’t read any of the other books on your list except Station 11. It was okay – you’ll have to post your thoughts! Definitely a different story. I had trouble following the storyline at times. Also, I don’t think five books is too optimistic for your trip. I took a ton with me to California. Marty was laughing at me as I packed them away (and downloaded even more to my iPad.)
Oh – and I went to spinning last week, too. I just can’t decide if I like it or not. I used to spin in the mornings but I’m trying to find workouts that I enjoy so they are easier to do.

I KNOW right? Goats cheese, roasted beetroot and garlic butter. Amazing!
