Making plans for summer days / nights out –
The weather is finally doing an approximation of Summer, and I’m enjoying making the most of my city by going to lots of the free events on offer this Summer. This coming weekend, I’m taking part in the Great Beeston Bake-Off (what I’m baking is top secret, but I can tell you that it’s a twist on my rainbow cake), and I’m looking forward to visiting the beautiful Trent Lock, as well as a trip down to Brighton in July! Summer evenings are often spent enjoying our back garden.
I’m getting hitched on June 21 next year in Nottingham, and even though it’s almost a year away – everything is pretty much sorted. I have been called the worlds most organised person, so I had to get it all done straight away!
Gel food colours
I LOVE using gel food colours (never liquid) to tint sponge and frosting bright vivid colours for successful results. The effect they give is amazing! This week I bought turquiose and violet from this seller on eBay – can’t wait to try them out!
If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you’ve probably already observed how I’m a walking talking cliches in many ways. Well, here’s another way – like 99% of other females on the planet, I like Cath Kidston stuff – shocker! For my birthday I got a few lovely items, including polka dot trainers, a polka dot apron, and some cute plates perfect for food photography.
I’m naturally always on the go, thinking of what needs to be done next to keep things on track, whether its on work or at home, so I’m trying to make a concerted effort to ‘relax’ at home rather than trying to maximise every minute. Do you have any tips for switching off and making time for yourself?
That’s what I’m loving right now readers, what are you loving?
