My fellow Midlands Food Bloggers let me know that there is a food bloggers conference coming to Birmingham this autumn, which I’m very pleased to say that I will be attending!
The event is called Bite n Write and its taking place on 19th November in Birmingham at the Custard Factory. Birmingham is about 90 minutes from Nottingham on the train (crazy when you think about it!) so it will be a long day but I’m hoping it will be worth it.
You can see the full programme for the day here, but I’m especially interested in learning about photography tips and techniques and about getting more out of wordpress.
Is anyone else planning on going? Have any fellow bloggers ever been to a blogging event? If so, what did you think?
Its kind of ironic that all the food bloggers will be eating out at the convention…
Congrats on the 5000 hits, and I hope you have a good time.
I’m no camera maven myself, but my little 200 dollar camera does all kinds of figuring
on how to make the shot look good on its own. Plus the JPG is so big you can ‘zoom in’ just
by cropping the original – its about 4-8 times larger than fits in a blog post. I used its macro mode for one picture of some flowers the size of your little fingernail. Unless you are using very small servings, I wouldn’t think this would be required for pictures of food.
Thanks for the congrats!
Yeah I hope that the food will be nice at the convention – would be kind of hilarious if its awful lol
Or if they dragooned you bloggers to cook!
Kerry, this sounds great. I didn’t know there were such things but look forward to hearing how you get on. If I can help at all with the food photos, let me know 🙂
Ps. yay for the 5000 hits!
Woo! I think I have a pretty rubbish camera but maybe you can give me some tips at the next wi? xx
Ah that sounds so cool – I’m super jealous. I really need to start signing up for more conferences so I can learn a thing or two from the experts! 😉
Thanks Cait! I can’t believe they’re having one in little old Birmingham UK! I’m hoping it will be really good, esp as it cost about £60 (about $100-110 I think)
Looking at your blog I’d say that you don’t need the expert tips quite as much as me lol – your food photos are great!
