Happy Friday, friends! It’s safe to say that I’m ready for this first full week back at work after our holiday to be over.
This past weekend, we spent the time (completely indoors as it spent the whole weekend chucking it down!) snuggled up with Marty and Milo, paying them lots of attention to make up for our week away. I also ate delicious food – porridge with pumpkin jam, veggie fritatta, and a fabulous Sunday brunch with pancakes, scrambled eggs and veggie bacon!
We also had a tasting session for our wedding cake with our good friend Liana of the amazing Swirls Bakery – we tasted delicious lemon, chocolate and vanilla cake – yum! One of the layers of our cake is going to be a rainbow cake! I’m so excited.
The rest of the week I also snuggled with cats, wore some new black and gold glitter Barry M nail polish, enjoyed a crepe at Aubrey’s in Nottingham, and harvested lots of pears from the tree in our garden! I just need to figure out some recipes involving pears…
This week I made Halloween Sandwich Cookies, and recapped the penultimate episode of The Great British Bake-Off – I can’t believe its almost over for another year!
See you back here on Monday for a fabulous Halloween Bark recipe!

Rainbow layer in the wedding cake sounds AMAZING!
Thanks Kat!! There will be a few rainbows popping up on the day!
Looks like a lovely week! Cakes, kitties and GBBO – sounds like bliss.
Yay! Marty and Milo miss you guys π
I think it is so cute that you are going to have one of your cake layers be a rainbow layer! Very true to you π I love when couples include little personal touches like this in their wedding π
Thanks Di! We don’t have a theme, but colourful, including rainbows and fairy lights, are as close as we come to one! π
