Happy Friday everyone! Only one more working week left until the Christmas holidays, hurrah! There isn’t much light about at this time of year, so I’m lighting bright twinkly candles around the house to cheer myself up! These candle holders are from Pretty Dandy
I’ve also been making chocolate chip cookie mix in a jar as Christmas gifts – as featured in my post this week about making homemade gifts – check it out – you still have time to make a special gift, scout’s honour.
Fairy lights in a vase, an idea blatently stolen from Emma, aka Emilia Hearts.
Two brothers in a box… M&M might not like catnip but they sure do like boxes… and bags, and suitcases.. basically anything that’s not a catbed
A pretty star garland that Emma got me – lovely!
One of the first presents that I wrapped – I have less people to buy for than ever this year, and in most cases I’ve got them one gift, so there weren’t many to wrap! I may start wrapping up some random things… I love wrapping!
A frosty visit to Lincoln to go to the Christmas market. This in Lincoln cathedral, which is HUGE and incredibly impressive – its on the scale of Notre Dame at least!
Lincoln was beautiful, but it was SO crowded. I felt like I was in the midst of the worst Christmas shopping hell ever! And the market was, unfortunately, pretty crappy – it was all generic, bought in stuff (the book people even had a stand!) – nothing was locally made or special.
This week I also finally got an ice cream scoop (to be used for cookies, of course!)
And finished The Marriage Plot and started reading The Turn of the Screw – Its very suspenseful, but I don’t want to read it too quickly – its only 120 pages!
I also got my Secret Santa present – thanks Santa!
And attended the City WI Christmas meal – we went to Le Bistrot Pierre and had a fun night, although I didn’t think the food was up to their usual standard. Here’s Helen and Emma looking pretty!
And me and Lovely Lucy sporting goofy grins and festive hats!
What a busy week! Thankfully I have a relaxing weekend coming up – what are you up to?
x Kerry
There is a lot of light in our house – We have no less than 6 sets of Christmas lights in various places, and an advent candle!
Love the ice cream scoop… so simple yet will make life so much easier, I want one for cupcakes 🙂
Nice! That sounds lovely 🙂 Yeah cupcakes is good too, or piping them. I think in practice I’m too lazy and would always use just two tablespoons though!
The Christmas market look like the perfect place to be. So charming! What a nice week 🙂
lovely photo’s Kerry. I am home making Marty & Milo’s new Christmas sofa next week, hope they like it. xxx
Looks like such a great week!
Your Christmas market looks like something out of Hogsmeade (the village near Hogwarts if you’re a Harry Potter fan!) but I’m sorry it was really generic. I hate when that happens. Your post is quite festive! Love it.
Thanks Jorie! Sadly I’m not a harry potter fan (gasp!!) but I did appreciate how cute it all looked 🙂
Love that last picture of you and Lucy.
Thanks Susannah 🙂 We had a fun night!
What a lovely festive week you’ve had- cannot believe xmas is so soon! Eeek!

Ice cream scoops are great I use them for muffin and cupcake mixes too, in order to make them even!
Have a lovely Christmas
