Happy Friday! I’m looking forward to a lovely sunny weekend with plenty of outdoor time! Here are a few snaps from my last week –
I enjoyed some soft corn bread from the Cheese Shop in Nottingham – they have yummy cakes, breads and other treats, as well as cheese! I also treated myself to a few items from Cath Kidston with my birthday voucher – a Cath Kidston spatula, a lanyard (for my work pass) and some cute stickers. I’d always resisted the spatula in the past due to it being £6 but I am so glad I got it – its very well made and does a great job!
I used it to make some mini heart shaped rainbow cakes (as well as some teal and purple layered ones) to enter into a Bake-Off – in case you haven’t read my Rainbow Cake post, you’ll need bright and concentrated gel colours to achieve colours like these! I won’t do a post on the cakes on Kerry Cooks, as mine were a little rough around the edges and this great tutorial explains how to do it better!
I also ate a lot of delicious strawberries and cherries – loving the fact that all of this amazing fruit is in season!
Funfetti! I made funfetti pancakes – I’d wanted to make them a couple of weeks ago for my birthday but didn’t end up doing it. I love how fun and cheerful they were!
I also made a tasty pasta dinner with mushrooms, onions, pine nuts, olives, and a creamy nutmeg and yoghurt sauce.
And I ended the week with an impromptu ice cream in the park on my cycle home!
Enjoy the sunshine! I hope you have some lovely plans to make the most of it?
Absolutely beautiful images and inspirational. I’ve got to go off and bake now! Loving the rainbows!
Thanks so much Judith!!
