Happy Friday readers! This week there has been (and it continues) an actual HEAT WAVE in good old Blighty. This is an unusual occurence, let me tell you, especially since our weather, rainy at best, started to be BLIGHTED with poor summers, about 6 years ago.
Fortunately, I have done what every good British person will do in the event of apparently having nothing to complain about, which is to find something to complain about. It is TOO hot, indeed, it is ridiculously hot! 27 degrees?! Have you seen the colour of my skin? Anyhoo…
This week I was very kindly invited to be the Co-Op Pop Up restaurant which came to Nottingham and set up in the old market square! Potential diners were invited to ‘tweet for a table’ to get a free meal – fun! We took along our friends Erin and Ryan and had a very tasty cous cous salad (healthy!).
I also ate an ENORMOUS amount of ice cream due to how warm it’s been. This new Ben and Jerry’s flavour is pretty good, although no patch on cookie dough or chocolate fudge brownie IF you ask me.
(and here’s a shot of Milo hugging our couch like his life depends on it).
The second half of the week I became very very ill (and very dramatic about it) and laid around for days moaning. I am now better, thankfully! But I didn’t really eat or do anything interesting in this time – except I made a chocolate chip cookie for one (so sad), ate some melon and hung out with Marty in my sickbed. He’s a good cat.
This week I also went out for a lovely dinner with a friend and spent some time in the Malt Cross in Nottingham – always a fun place!
What did you get up to this week readers, and more importantly, what are your plans for the weekend?
