Happy Friday readers! Today I have the day off before I start my new job on Monday so I’ll definitely be spending part of today blogging and planning what I’m going to be making through September and October for autumn and Halloween. I LOVE this time of year! (as evidenced my my Pinterest boards!)
This week saw an exciting addition to my baking suppliers – a doughnut pan! I purchased it from Amazon and its currently only £7.57 so snap it up if you want to experiment with some cake doughnuts. I think my first attempt will be cinnamon sugar doughnuts.
I made THE most amazing peanut butter chocolate squares too – they are SO moreish and addictive! I’ll share the recipe soon!
I also purchased some new cakey bits from Fair Cake, a London based company that I found online. They sell colouring and nozzles at very fair prices. I stocked up on Electric Purple (the ONLY and I mean only purple food colouring I’ve found that is bright and vivid enough for the purple layer on my Rainbow Cake), Electric Pink (a really neon pink!) and Electric Orange (can’t wait to make some goodies for Halloween with it!), as well as a couple of new nozzles.
I also took a few shots of Marty and Milo hanging out in the garden! It’s their birthday on the 13th (yes, I know and celebrate my cat’s birthday!). I got them a scratch pad, which they love.
Finally, yesterday was my last day working at Nottingham Trent University – my workmates got me some lovely leaving presents from Cath Kidston! And some lovely sunflowers too. To celebrate, I enjoyed some English-ified S’mores – two digestive biscuits topped with plain chocolate and marshmallows, warmed under the grill. Smush together and enjoy!
Have a wonderful weekend readers! What are you up to? I’m meeting up with some lovely Midlands based bloggers – Make, Do and Spend, My Sugar Coated Life and Bakearama. Check out their blogs!
