Happy Friday, friends! How has your week been?
On Friday night I babysat for my friend’s little toddler while they went out for a celebratory meal. Sadly he was feeling a bit poorly and got upset. As difficult as it is at the time, I’m glad to get some practise in so that I know how to deal with it a bit better when I have kids!
While I was over there I also caught up with the two episodes of the comic relief bake off that I’d missed so far. I was chuffed to see rainbow cupcakes in the first one, and I found Dame Edna’s turn on the second episode SO hilarious!
At the weekend me and Lee visited my family in Staffordshire to celebrate my dad’s birthday. While the boys visited the England football training grounds near Burton, me and my mum caught up and I put together a hamper for my brother to say thank you for giving me a kitchenaid!
I didn’t take a picture of it for some reason, but it had lots of yummy things he would like (lots of meat!), including sirloin steak, chocolate covered pretzels and beers.
That night we went to Pizza by Goli in Lichfield for dinner. The food there is really nice, although not up to Das Kino’s amazing pizza standards!
We caught the train back to Nottingham on Sunday in the freezing wind and rain and reunited with the kitties. Bella was very happy to see us and didn’t shut up miaowing for a solid five hours.
This week the circuits class I take at Pure Gym in Beeston got even tougher! We were doing things like planks with toe taps, barball lifts, and shuttle sprints, and in between – high knees!
The rest of this week has been pretty quiet! I’ve been planning in some Easter bakes in the next week…. can you guess what I’m making (that’s a bit cruel as there’s NO WAY you’ll be able to guess the Creme Egg one).
This weekend I’m meeting up with my new personal trainer, Jess. I’ve decided to have 5 hour long sessions with her and a fitness plan done so that I can really get to grips with the types of exercises I should be doing, how heavy the weights should be etc. I’m paying £150 for it but I’m hoping it will really be worth it as an investment into my future fitness!
And on Sunday, I’m hosting a farewell afternoon tea for our friend Erin who’s going for an extended holiday in Australia for 7 weeks! I’m making blueberry scones and carrot cake sandwich cookies to share with you all soon!
What are you up to this weekend food friends? Are you baking / making anything nice?
x Kerry
