Happy Friday friends! We’re just one day away from a delicious lie-in – hurrah! There’s nothing quite like not having to get out of bed!
How has your week been? Last weekend I went home to see my family, particularly my mum in time for Mother’s Day! We went for a delicious dinner at Ye Olde Dun Cow on Saturday, and went for afternoon tea at the Dorothy Clive garden on Sunday.
Though they were clearly still working out the kinks, the afternoon tea was tasty (a scone the size of your head is never bad!). We also played blocks and runs (I won!) and attempted to play the simpsons game of life (anyone remember game of life?!) but it proved too complex to persevere with!
I had Monday off and I came back to Nottingham (Bella was very pleased to see me!) and had my hair coloured by my hairdresser – the amazing Lucille’s Locks. She comes to your house and is very good at keeping my greys (what?) at bay! I also made some Chocolate brownies with Malteaster bunnies (poor melted bunnies!) and chocolate (I LOVE that stuff – I’ve asked for a malteaster easter egg this year). I won’t be putting them on my blog as a proper recipe as I didn’t think they turned out *quite* well enough, but they were very fudgy and delicious. I used this Lorraine Pascal recipe but put in more chocolate (300g) and lots of chunks of malteaster chocolate!
On Tuesday evening I was lucky enough to be invited over to a blogger meet up in Leicester which Annie was kind enough to organise! It was at Peter Pizzeria in the centre of town, and it was a really unusual place. It’s a gorgeous building with high ceilings, huge windows and plenty of space, and they’ve really gone out all decorating it – there are so many cool touches everywhere! It’s also the only place that I’ve ever gone to the toilet in a shed…
We got to meet other local bloggers, as well as representatives from companies like Dunelm and Zatchels, and most importantly, got to eat a whole SHED LOAD of yummy pizza! I tried the margherita, smoked mozzarella with mushrooms and the black truffle pizza (so basically all the veggie ones!). It was my first time trying truffle and it was kind of an odd taste – perhaps an acquired taste like olives? The pizzas are seriously good so swing by if you’re in leicester (or loughborough where there’s another one).
Yes, that is a nutella pizza! My only feedback would be that it could have used more nutella….
My friend Sarah of Seriously Shallow, and now Seriously Mummy (!) was kind enough to drive me there and back, which became unexpectedly terrifying when we were enveloped in thick fog and couldn’t see a thing! Luckily we got back in one piece.
On Wednesday I headed to the gym for a check in with my personal trainer Jess! I have been quite busy and not really committed to my new program as much as would have been ideal (see pizza eating!) but the good news is that my muscle mass has increased – hurrah!
This weekend I’m heading to Lowdham to visit Apple Tree Organic for a full body massage! I won one in a raffle at Cake Eaters Anonymous, and then decided to get another one so that Lee and I could both have one! I’m sooo looking forward to it – I’ll let you know what I think of the place!
- Currently reading: I just started Better than Before, the new book from Gretchen Rubin who wrote The Happiness Project, which I love! I pre-ordered it from amazon and having it turn up was like a little present from myself!
- Currently watching: The ultimate fighter series 19!
- Currently listening to: I STILL haven’t updated my iTunes (I KNOW, I’m TERRIBLE) but I have started listening to a few podcasts!
What are you up to this weekend friends?
