Happy Friday!! How are you doing?
How has your week been?
It may not look any different, but today Kerry Cooks officially has a new home over at TSOhost! When the lovely Iced Jems shared my Creme Egg Chocolate Caramel Shortbread recipe and it went a bit ‘viral’ my blog got an insane amount of hits (over forty thousand!) in a day and started struggling, which was SO frustrating for me because I knew you all wanted to get your hands on the recipe! It even went down for about an hour and a half which resulted in a very stressful, and very expensive phone call to the US to my host Bluehost to try to get it sorted out.
ANYHOO the whole experience has made me realise how important a great host is. One who would never take your blog down just because it’s getting lots of hits! Now I’m safely over at TSOhost, (thanks to the expert assistance of Jo from Geek Fairy). They’re a UK based host with excellent support and I’ve heard SO MANY great things about them that I feel my blog is in very safe hands indeed.
Speaking of Creme Egg Chocolate Caramel Shortbread, I made it again last weekend! Lee almost NEVER wants me to bake for him or eats what he bakes (he is very healthy!) so when he suggested I make it I jumped at the chance! I took some pretty new photos to update the post for you all too.
I also made some cute Easter Bark at the weekend, using white chocolate, featuring super adorable bunny sprinkles! I’ll share the recipe in the next week so you can make it in time for Easter if you’d like to!
Sunday was really sunny so the cats spent a lot of the day snuggled up on the bed hugging each other – so cute!
This week I also popped to Homesense (a sister shop to TK Maxx) to have a mooch round. I was hoping to find a new cake stand similar to the milk-glass look alike one I got from there which immediately broke. They didn’t have any, but I got a cute new vintage style cutlery set and some pretty new dinner plates too! When I saw this pastel display I wanted to buy everything but I resisted!
This week I also met my friends son Henry for the first time! He’s five months old and he’s a heartbreaker already! We had lunch at Pitcher and Piano in Nottingham, a stunning former church that’s now a bar and restaurant. So beautiful!
I had a sweet potato burrito and it was yummy, definitely one to check out if you’re ever in Nottingham!
Are you doing anything fun this weekend? I don’t think I have any plans at the moment but I’m sure I’ll be tempted to bake something yummy!
