Happy Friday! How has your week been? Here are a few snapshots from mine
Strawberry Crumble Bars that I baked up on Friday night as Lee’s family were visiting the next day! The sunny warm weather here had me wanting to make something super-summery! I’ll share the recipe for these with you very soon
We popped out to the Malt Shovel in Beeston for lunch. The food was very tasty if you’re ever in the area.
On Sunday I attempted to make homemade almond butter, but my food processor struggled! It took FOREVER. Have you ever tried it?
Monday was a fun one, I went out for after work cocktails with friends and sampled quite a few of Das Kino’s finest, alongside a tasty frenchman pizza at Das Kino (to ensure we didn’t get too tipsy!). I tried a french martini (amazing), mojito (very nice), espresso martini (too sweet/coffee tasting for me but you’d probably love it if you like coffee) and a margarita (quite nice).
On Tuesday I managed to eat TWO bagels – a nutella cinnamon and raisin bagel for breakfast and a salmon and cream cheese one for lunch! CARBS! (The nutella cinnamon raisin bagel is amazing – try it!).
Little cat madam Bella has lost her collar again, AND gained a bald spot above her left eyebrow and a cut on her ear (to go with her other wonky ear!). She doesn’t seem to be doing so well at this whole being a cat thing!
Tonight I’m heading to a friends house for a 90s movies night! We’ve got a copy of Romeo and Juliet, Dream Phone, and snacks! The only thing missing is a Mr Frosty!
Have a wonderful weekend! What are you up to?
x Kerry

Those strawberry crumble bars! I die. I have never found strawberries to be very good as a star of my baking, I much prefer the tartness of a raspberry but I am keen to try these crumble bars. 🙂 I normally use strawberries as a garnish or a topping for simple things like pancakes or yogurt.

Ah such a cute kitty! I do love me some bagels, they are like one of the best foods right? So much carbs. All the baking looks delish as well of course!! xx

The pizza looks scrummy, is that beetroot on it by any chance??
Your lovely cat, madam Bella, looks lovely – like butter wouldn’t melt! She reminds me of one of my childhood cats.

It is! It’s a delicious one called the frenchman, with garlic, goats cheese and beetroot – it’s really yummy!
Sounds like you’ve had a busy week! How do you fit it all in?
You mention your food processor struggling on the nut butter – mine take an age too. I think it depends on the nut. Peanuts are fine but hazelnuts take a lifetime!!!
Also does Bella have any wild cat in her? My old cat used to be the same. My bedroom looked out Iver the garden and I was woken up almost nightly with the sound of cat fights. Poor inky was aways injured and had more than his fair share of kitty anyibiotiCs. We always out it down to the fact he was half wild cat so he was super territorial.

Good think peanut butter is on my list next!
Not TOO busy but I do have a great job work / life balance wise – I’m out of there most days by 4.30/5 – I know not everyone is the same!
We have no idea about Bella’s heritage really as she’s a rescue, but I think from watching her that the problem is that she doesn’t understand cat etiquette (catiquette if you will!). I don’t think she wants to get into fights, she just is running around being silly and gets too near to another older cat without showing it the proper ‘respect’ and gets herself into trouble!
