Happy Friday friends! How is your week going so far?
This weekend is a bank holiday in the UK – hurrah! Do you have any plans? I’m working a lot of Sunday, but having the Monday off to have a lie in makes it more bearable.
This past week has been pretty busy – on Friday I had another movie night with my girlfriends! We watched Much Ado About Nothing – a film that three of us were *slightly* obsessed with as teens (when Keanu fever was at it’s height!).
Well, let me tell you, it stands up, even if the dvd (video?!) cover is the most hilariously 90s thing ever. Keanu in leather pants! Denzel having the time of his life! Saucy Emma Thompson! See it at once, if you haven’t already!
We were lucky enough to have Polly, my friends gorgeous baby girl join us too, for her first girls night!
We ate grilled lasagna sandwiches (amazing), kale salad, captain crunch smore’s bars (omg), chocolate spiders (an australian treat featuring chocolate, peanut butter and noodles) and I made an Oreo ice cream cake! A healthy evening.
The cats were being pretty adorable this weekend – Bella’s favourite spot is the bathroom window (only when the window is open), where she can look out and keep an eye on what the birds are up to. As every weekend, I spent most of Saturday playing a cat and human game with Milo, waiting for him to stop sleeping on the bed so I can change the sheets. This time, he seized the opportunity to climb into the duvet on the floor, and nestle inside it!
On Sunday some friends came over for lunch (including Polly again! I managed to keep her entertained for some of the time on my lap with constant jiggling). ! I made homemade tortillas to dip into hummus, and also blueberry and coconut cupcakes – they turned out really yummy! I’ll share them with you soon.
We used these adorable watermelon paper plates and napkins from Tesco – they’re so cute! And the lovely Helen brought me some hagelslag (which I have since almost completely eaten!).
I also made another batch of my healthy breakfast muffins this week – I didn’t have any bananas so I used greek yoghurt instead and added coconut, blueberries and cinnamon – they still turned out really tasty! This recipe is SO flexible and it always seems to turn out great.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for all your lovely comments on my Chubby Hubby cupcakes AND on my post about hagelslag – chocolate sprinkles on toast for breakfast! I SO wish they sold that yummy Ben & Jerry’s flavour in the UK, but as they don’t the cupcakes are the next best thing!
What are you up to this weekend?
x Kerry

A delicious combi of tomato, cheese, ricotta and spinach inside a grilled sandwich! So good!
Our feline friend ‘helps’ when the bed linen is stripped each week! Every week without fail he’s there to ‘help’! George, our previous cat, was just the same – he’d even actually get in the douvet cover! They are funny!
Your blueberry & coconut cupcakes look scrummy. (and little Polly’s a little cutie!)

Haha, most 90’s thing ever, I think that about 10 Things I hate About You! (maybe it’s a 90’s:Shakespeare thing!)
