Happy Friday!! How’s your week been?
This past week has been relatively quiet, by my standards! On Sunday we enjoyed a lovely lunch with several friends (and some babies too!) at The Vic, in Beeston, which does yummy food. We’re really lucky in Beeston to have so many great places to eat and drink!
On Monday I went to a event for a new women’s network at my work, and one of the original calender girls, Tricia Stewart. Her talk was supremely funny and interesting, and very inspirational (in case you haven’t seen the film, or the play, Tricia was part of a group of Women’s Institute members who set out to raise a few thousand pounds with a naked calender – they’ve raised over £4million!).
This week I also did some shopping and got a new soft angora jumper (from Primark of all places!) as well as various festive treats and gifts! I also enjoyed a delicious lunch with my workmates in the Hungry Pumpkin cafe in the Lace Market, which I LOVE! I’m addicted to their goats cheese and coleslaw jacket potato (this may be a combination that only exists in my world).
I also enjoyed a chilly photoshoot at Nottingham Castle for work – with Robin Hood – and stopped by the Winter Market in Nottingham city centre to soak up the festive atmosphere. I also had ANOTHER lunch out – this time a fish finger burger at Saltwater. So much yummy food this week!
I also have to tell you guys about my blog shopping endeavours this week – I’m gearing up for a day of baking next Friday for the Nottingham City WI Bake Sale on Saturday 30th November (if you’re in Nottingham, please come along and eat cake for a good cause!). I found these adorable (!) tiny candy canes in Poundland and they are perfect for some of the cupcakes I’m dreaming up… I also stocked up in the American treats aisle of Asda – marshmallows, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Kisses, and more! I’m definitely feeling inspired to bake!
It’s a little hard to see in the pictures above, but Marty and Milo are transfixed by a cat game on Lee’s tablet – so hilarious! They were trying to look underneath and behind it to work out where the fishies had gone.
Have a wonderful weekend readers! What are you getting up to – are you baking anything or doing anything nice? We have family visiting, and I will be baking something gingerbread themed for this month’s festive edition of the Nottingham Cake Club!
See you back here on Monday for festive Gingerbread Cupcakes!
