Happy Friday friends! I’m sorry for the lateness of this weeks post, I’m currently sneezing and whimpering from my sick bed, having been struck down by the WORST COLD EVER! Pray for me?
This week has been fairly low key – I’ve been feeling quite run down (hence the moment the cold chose to STRIKE). I have recently picked up some organic coconut oil and agarve syrup in an attempt to do some (slightly) healthier baking… any ideas on where to start?
This week I also headed to Cake Club, which was slightly wasted on me as I felt so ill! I managed a slice of Erin’s delicious pavlova but little else, although people said that they really enjoyed my nutella brownies (I didn’t think they were all that so I won’t be posting them here, at least not until I develop a better recipe!).
In an attempt to get some much needed-veggies into my body, I made this delicious soup (recipe by Annie’s Eats, one of my favourite blogs). I can’t even describe how good it was. It’s garlic-y, parmesan-y and delicious, and it’s packed full of good for you veggies like celery, tomatoes and spinach! A-MAZING!
This week I also made Valentine’s Cards for some of my friends using a cute heart stamp from Paperchase… I’m finding it dangerous to work so near to a branch, there’s always something I want!
On Wednesday we had the City WI February meeting, our birthday meeting and Bake-Off! There were loads of delicious treats on offer, my favourite probably being Trista’s spiced nuts which were amazing! They had rosemary, salt, honey, sugar, chilli – ultra delicious!
Finally, scenes from a sickbed! Homemade lemsip (just lemon, ginger, and honey with hot water – no chemicals here!), and SEVEN episodes of Scandal. Can’t wait for new episodes from the 27th!
Happy Valentine’s Day everybody! Tonight I’m making Lee a low-key valentine’s meal at home (away from the wind and rain!). I’ve put together a spotify playlist with some of my favourite love songs if you’d like to hear.
Have a wonderful weekend – what are you up to?
