Happy Friday, friends! This week has been on the quiet side, although my weekend was very busy! I went to a first birthday party on Saturday, which was one of the most fun, rambunctious places ever! Kids hopped up on sugar are hilarious, let me tell you! I also got to hang out with my two favourite babies, Finley and Rory. They are just the cutest.
On Sunday I had some friends over for a lovely afternoon tea style lunch. It was a gorgeous sunny and warm day that almost had me believing that spring (or summer!) was here! I baked chocolate marshmallow krispie bars (a bit like nanimo bars – I’ll share the recipe soon!) plus near-perfect thick and chewy chocolate chunk cookies.
Lee was out and about a lot this week, so I spent time working on my blog, and also baking my Rainbow Cake! As it’ll soon be two years since I first posted the recipe, I’m going to update the pictures (with the layers in the right order this time). Don’t forget to send me a picture if you’ve baked it!
On Wednesday, we held the March Nottingham City WI meeting with a theme of ‘getting to know you’! Since our members tend to be very busy, we wanted to hold a meeting completely focused on helping everyone to find out about each other – it was really fun!
This afternoon I’m doing something very very exciting which I won’t be able to share with you for several weeks (in fact, I may have even completely forgotten about it by the time I am allowed to tell you). But I can tell you that it’s only the most exciting thing that’s ever happened, EVER! And it involves cake.
Then on Sunday, I’m going to see the Veronica Mars movie! In case I’ve never mentioned it, I’m a HUGE Veronica Mars fan – seriously, it’s one of the best TV shows ever! Do yourself a favour and buy the boxset now!

Hooray for babies, sunshine and CAKE! I’m still thinking about how good those chocolate marshmallow krispie bars were… Happy Friday x
