Happy Friday, friends!
How has your week been? Mine has been fun and pretty busy!
Last Friday I got together with some of the other Cake Club ladies to enjoy some cake chat, drinks, and of course, EAT CAKE!
I had some Rainbow Cake, some delicious cookies, and amazing Giant Cinnamon Roll, made by the lovely and talented Liana!
Later that night, we were so caked out and deprived of savoury food that we had to go for fish’n’chips! The place we chose wasn’t the best one in Nottingham (I think Moulin Rouge is supposed to be good?) but a fishcake is always delicious, especially when you’ve overdosed on cake!
The next day I ate super healthily as I always do feel the effects of eating a lot of sugar – I call it a sugar hangover! I generally get headachey, and feel a bit sick and lethargic which really shows that eating a lot of sugar isn’t good for your body at all. However, it’s all about moderation, and the occasional cupcake or ice cream are definitely good for the soul!
We also got some really exciting news this week – a new member is joining our family! We’ve been approved to adopt a two year old tabby cat who should come to live with us in the next couple of weeks. She has a red tummy in this picture as she’d just been neutered – hopefully she’ll like living with us! I’ve been watching videos about integrating a new cat in with the existing cat – if you have any tips or expertise, let me know!
The weekend was really sunny so I headed for a walk around Attenborough Nature Reserve with Erin and Finley. It’s a lovely local area with man-made lakes that attract lots of rare birds. I also went to see Veronica Mars on Sunday evening with lovely Emma – it was fab to see it in the cinema! I loved it at the time, but I have slightly more mixed feelings now.
At lunch one day I headed to Lakeland to pick up the some non stick baking liner. I didn’t realise that one large roll (£9.99) is enough to be cut up and cover lots of average size cookie sheets, so one is all you need unless you’re a bakery! I can’t wait to give it a go. I also snapped pictures of the adorable kids baking range they have – so cute!
On Wednesday, I published my 800th post on Kerry Cooks (this one)! I really LOVE blogging and interacting with you all here – roll on 1000!
Have a wonderful weekend! What are you up to?
x Kerry
