How has your week been friends?
This past weekend I headed home to visit my family in Staffordshire. Me and my Mum sorted out quite a bit of wedding stuff, and we had a delicious roast chicken dinner which was amazing (if you’re wondering why I was eating chicken, I’m generally pescatarian but eat free range chicken about twice a year – this way of eating just works for me!).
My parents live near a lovely area of woodland called Cannock Chase – we took their dog Murphy for a walk there in the sunshine. I really miss established woods living in Beeston, there isn’t anything similar nearby.
We also went for a delicious lunch at the Vintage Tea Emporium in Uttoxeter – I highly recommend it if you’re ever in the area!
On Wednesday I headed to lunch at new Nottingham spot Pudding Pantry with my friend Edward. It’s a lovely little place but my sandwich wasn’t up to the standard of excellent Nottingham stalwarts Wired or Hungry Pumpkin (they have only just opened). The pumpkin whoopie pie was lovely though and I’ll definitely give it another go. Perfect for coffee and cake.
Wednesday night I went for my second meal out of the day (wedding diet?!) at The Victoria in Beeston with Emma and Nial. I had a delicious butternut squash risotto with goats cheese – there were so many tasty veggie options (as ever at the Vic).
This week yet more wedding stuff arrived – including a pretty hair comb for me to wear on the day!
Tonight I am doing the FUNNEST thing! I’m having a 90s movie marathon with some girl friends – we’re watching Clueless and 10 Things I hate about you, and eating pizza, popcorn and chocolate brownie cookies!
Have a fun weekend! Are you doing anything fun?
