Happy Friday, friends!
How has your week been?
This past weekend was packed full of fun – some friends came to visit ahead of my wedding! We enjoyed some giant chocolate cookies and mojito’s (I used this recipe) in my sunny garden before heading into Nottingham to go to Annie’s Burger Shack for dinner. They do huge American-style burgers, and are pretty popular. My friends all liked their burgers, but the veggie burger there is pretty terrible (dry and just tastes bad!) and the service still has a lot of issues.
The rest of my week has been pretty quiet – there have been lots of sunny lunches and even a post-lunch ice cream one day at work. I tried an Oreo ice cream cone, which surpassed my expectations – it may not be one where you’d want to look at the ingredients list, but it was very tasty!
This week I also tried Tesco Finest Valencia Orange and Pink Lemonade lollies since I had company at the weekend. I really like the orange ones (great intense orange flavour) but pink lemonade wasn’t so good. At £2.55 for four I’m not sure I’d buy even the orange ones again though.
A few more bits – laughing at #WhyI’mVotingUKIP on Twitter, making brown sugar (I’m bringing you a tutorial on how to make it at home on Wednesday) and healthy dinners outside! Plus a pretty rainbow as seen from work.
Oh, and I also voted on Thursday evening. While I may despair of pretty much everyone involved in the main political parties, I still think it’s incredibly important to exercise your right to vote.
This weekend is a bank holiday in the UK (for my readers from other countries, we get Monday off, hurrah!). What are you getting up to?
I’m heading to a food blogger meet up on Saturday and doing a spot of shopping on Sunday. But mostly I’m hoping to use this weekend to tick a few niggling wedding jobs off my list – it’s four weeks to go tomorrow!
