Happy Friday everyone! How are you doing?
This week, I have mainly been…. eating! No one mentioned that all the celebrations in the run up to getting married would be so delicious! I’m a little worried about fitting into my dress when I go to pick it up later today though!
Last weekend was a fun one… it started off with Nutella stuffed Chocolate Chunk Cookies! I’ve made so many cookies recently that I’m in danger (real, clear and present danger!) of turning into a cookie!
I headed into Nottingham to take a peek at the Milk Race (an event I was working on in my job at Nottingham City Council) and meet up with some other food bloggers. Disappointingly, not all of the bloggers were able to make it so they missed out on fantastic goody bags! Tesco were kind enough to send us some items from their fab new pastel kitchenwear range, and Steenbergs sent an amazing gift bag with vanilla bean paste, rosewater and some spice mixes. Amazing!
On Sunday we headed to the Luminarium which is currently at Highfields Park. It’s a kind of roving balloon-looking art installation which has travelled the world! Kids love it, but it’s fun for adults too.
The park was absolutely beautiful with late spring colour and blooms, despite the rainy day!
Although it did later clean up into a beautifully sunny day! We had dinner outside (veggie burger) and enjoyed the sunshine with Milo in the garden. I also noticed that Tesco have started selling chocolate chip scotch pancakes… thank goodness these wenre’t available when I was young or I’d be twice my current size!
Food! This week I was spoilt rotten, two lovely friends and former work colleagues from Nottingham Trent University took me for lunch at the Pudding Pantry on Tuesday (including an amazing Chocolate Mousse with salted caramel layer, peanut brittle and lavendar shortbread!), and I also went out to dinner on Wednesday at Zizzi with some of my lovely current work colleagues. I had a buffalo mozzarella pizza which was delicious – buffalo mozarella makes such a difference – don’t settle for regular mozzarella!
On Thursday evening I headed out with my friend (and one of my bridesmaids Emma) to go to the Malt Cross before it closes for refurbishment. We had fun playing cards, drinking champagne and learning about the plans for the changes.
I cannot believe it’s the last Friday in May! It feels like time is speeding up in these last few weeks before the wedding and we still have so much to do! Lee is having his stag do this weekend and my hen do (blurgh the words are so horrid!) is next weekend. Followed by my 30th birthday on the 15th and then the wedding on the 21st!
I’ve been so busy with the wedding that I haven’t really thought about turning 30, but I’m pretty cool with it. My twenties have been awesome but I’m sure the next decade will be even better!
What are you up to this weekend readers?
