Happy Friday friends! How are you doin’?
Last Friday was my last day at work before the wedding and my workmates were soo kind! I came into find that my desk was covered in balloons and confetti! I was also very spoiled with wedding (and birthday!) presents from Cath Kidston (my work friends know me so well!).
On Friday I also met up with Kate and Adam, some old friends from when I worked at Boots for lunch. We went to Wired Cafe, who’ve changed their lunch menu… not sure I’m entirely sold on the changes (no more amazing smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich!).
Saturday was my last day as a 29 year old! I hosted a small birthday gathering at my house – here’s Lee being Tom Hanks! And the amazing Erin made me cookie dough peanut butter squares! They were super delicious – Lee ate five in the space of a few minutes!
For my birthday I got lovely earrings and the Sally’s Baking Addiction cookbook from Lee! Milo brought me a (nearly) dead bird. 🙁
The next day I TURNED 30! Hurrah! I’m not the kind of person to get het up about a number (although I didn’t particularly like Lee insisting that it was my 31st year!) so I didn’t mind shifting decades at all! On Sunday I headed to Hoar Cross Hall spa in Staffordshire with my mum for a day of relaxation and pampering. I had a lovely back massage and a gel pedicure, plus I did some archery!
On Monday we went to see the florist for the wedding and they made up some bouquets and buttonholes – the flowers are all grown by them on their lovely farm and the smell of the roses is just intoxicating. So yummy!
Other than that, this week I’ve mainly been baking, a LOT of wedding favours! I’ve made coconut macaroons and sugar cut out cookies (dipped in chocolate with sprinkles!).
Oh and on Wednesday evening some of my lovely bridesmaids came over to help me fluff pom-poms… they are the best gals ever!
Tomorrow is my wedding day! I can’t really believe it’s finally here or that everything I and my friends and family have been working hard to plan is finally here! At times it’s been stressful but I have no doubt that tomorrow will be an incredibly fun day!
We head off for honeymoon on Monday, for two weeks on the east course of the US. I’ve got posts lined up for you as normal on Monday’s and Wednesdays, and I’ve got brilliant guest posts from the wonderful Vagabond Baker coming up a week today, and one from Taming Twins two weeks today.
