Happy Friday readers! How has your week been? As usual, I’m bringing you a Friday post with a few snaps showing what I’ve been up to this week.
Last Friday started out right with plenty of cake for breakfast! As members of City WI, myself and the lovely Trista were invited to judge a Bake Sale!
There were cupcakes, cookies and cakes galore and it was tough to make a decision, but in the end, some fudgy brownies with white chocolate chunks were crowned the winner and I purchased a mars bar rice krispie cake to take home (its ironic that my cake tastes are so common!).
On Friday evening I got home to Marty practicising for Halloween – the look on his face as he peers down at me from the top of the garage cracks me up! Then I went out for a few cocktails with some good friends (home to bed for a reasonable hour, of course!).
This weekend I also did LOTS of baking! I made chocolate cherry coconut tartlets and truffles (with chocolate covered cherries, natch), plus some Halloween sandwich cookies! I am so obsessed with everything Halloween at the moment, especially THESE sprinkles. Let’s just say that if you’re in the midlands, I’d make a detour to come call at my house on October 31st!
On Sunday, I headed to a baby shower at a friends house, and spent a very happy few hours surrounded by babies and eating cake! It was a beautiful sunny day and it was great to enjoy the last of the good weather on such a joyful occasion. I can’t wait to meet the little one (hope they like my panda!).
On Sunday evening we also headed out to see the hilarious Stewart Lee (very funny indeed!) and then we went back to the theatre again on Tuesday to see 1984! Ooh I am full to the BRIM with culture (and cake).
Next Friday, I’ll be sunning myself in Portugal, so I won’t be bringing you a snapshots from my week post – I’ll have a Halloween recipes round up for you instead! And I’ll share a few holiday snaps when we get back!
Have a wonderful weekend readers, what are your plans?
