What are you up to this weekend? We’re off to historic Chester with our friends Emma and Nial to see some other friends (hi Kate and Adam!).
Mini history lesson – Chester was founded as a roman fort in the year 79 and is one of the best preserved walled cities in Europe. As well as parts dating back to roman times, it also has lots of lovely medieval buildings as you can see in the picture below. Its also very popular with tourists. I don’t think I’ve been there since I was a teenager so I’m looking forward to seeing it again, especially all lit up for Christmas.
I went to Chester for the first time last weekend (and blogged about it!)
Make sure you visit Becniks vintage shop – it’s a little out of the centre but it is well WELL worth the visit.
It’s in an old pub on Christleton Road. Good for Christmas shopping too.
(Hell by the way – read your blog, but this is first comment!)
Have a great time, its supposed to snow here, not sure about where you are going <:)
That clock is one of my favourite parts of Chester. My other favourite is the riverside area, particularly when there’s a band playing on the bandstand. I miss weekends in Chester.
