Valentine’s Treats – Easy Makes and Bakes

February 5, 2014 By Kerry Cooks 6 Comments

Hurrah! It’s almost that time again! Let’s talk about our favourite Valentine’s treats!

You guys know that I love to bake, and there’s really no better time to dust off your pinny and get busy in the kitchen (aye aye!). After all, what does it say to the object of your affections if you simply pop into a shop and pick up a box of any old chocolates for the occasion? I would be so much more thrilled with homemade chocolate rice krispie cakes (my favouriteeeee!) than the most expensive box of shop-bought (and unlikely to be very nice unless they’re hand-made) chocolates.

So, to inspire you, here’s my round-up of some of my favourite treats to make for your Valentine!

valentines1

Cookie dough peanut butter cups / chocolate pancakes with strawberries / giant valentine cookie / homemade oreos with cookie dough filling / frosted sugar cookies

valentines2

Chocolate brownie cake / cookie dough pretzel peanut butter cup bark / bounty stuffed chocolate fudge brownies / no bake chocolate peanut butter squares

Both the bark, peanut butter squares and cookie dough cups don’t involve any baking at all – perfect if you’re less confident in the kitchen!

What are you doing for Valentine’s – anything homemade planned?

Yum! I really want to make something for Valentine’s Day next week. I’m just not sure what. I think those cut-out cookies would be a delicious option 🙂

Geez I want them all! Nothing planned – planning on making some banana bread soon though (not Valentine-related!) for a running-related party!
